Muaj Lo, MD comes to Fort Bragg after 20 years of practicing family medicine in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He enjoys providing care in community health centers where there is often a shortage of physicians and the community is underserved. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis and a Mayo Clinic Family Medicine Residency Program. He enjoys running and hiking which makes the Mendocino Coast an excellent place for him to be a doctor. Traveling is also a hobby he is pursuing. Above all else, Dr. Lo enjoys providing healthcare for patients from all walks of life and cultures.

James Thomas, PA specializes in family health care. He joined the MCC team in 2003. James also provides behavioral medicine services in our Behavioral Health Department. James received his Physician Assistant degree from Weill Cornell Medical School in New York.

When he’s not at work, James enjoys painting, spending time with his son, and being a DJ at a local radio station, where he showcases his extensive and eclectic knowledge of music. He is also an avid New York Rangers fan.

Dr. Goldyn is the Medical Director at Mendocino Coast Clinics. As Medical Director, he manages MCC’s medical providers and is a member of the Executive Committee, along with the Executive Director and the Operations Director.

Dr. Goldyn received his medical degree from Tufts University and holds a PhD in Political Science from Stanford University. He is Board certified in Internal Medicine and has a specialist designation from the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Dr. Goldyn dedicated many years to the education of Physician Assistants and Resident Physicians as a Proctor at Stanford University Physician Assistant Program, an Attending Physician at California Pacific Medical Center, Outpatient Resident Clinic, and Director of the HIV Resident’s Clinic. He has served on many HIV Advisory Committees as well as Quality Assurance Committees.

Dr. Goldyn is the only physician specializing in HIV care in Mendocino County. He also leads MCC’s Suboxone program, a medically assisted treatment for opiate use disorder.

Kunal Om Goel, MD, is an internal medicine physician with interests in integrative medicine, preventive health, and patient-centered primary care. He is also interested in digital health and improving access to high-quality care in rural communities. Dr. Goel splits his time between San Diego and Mendocino, California, and outside of medicine enjoys running, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Goel is contracted at MCC through October, when he will move out of the county. 

Hilary was born and raised in San Francisco. She studied Economics and Italian at UCLA and received her Master’s in Nursing at USF. She received her FNP certificate at San Francisco State University. Her life took an unexpected turn after her father died in 2019 and she found herself living in a small mountain village in the Italian Alps for about three years. She holds a second Master’s Degree in Italian Food and Wine from the University of Padua.

Hilary loves learning and enjoys the task of diagnosing medical problems. She wanted to be able to make more of an impact in people’s lives as a medical provider, and is interested in prescribing both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatments for disease. After spending time outside of San Francisco in Italy, she realized how much she liked rural, small town living. She was looking for a place that was near the ocean, somewhere that has access to nature and great food ingredients, with a community that holds similar values to her own. Fort Bragg checked those boxes, plus it has a mild climate like her hometown. Hilary loves being outside and her interests include food (clearly!), languages, basketry, all things Italian, mushroom hunting and wild food foraging. She speaks Italian, medical Spanish, and some French. She is an Iyengar Yoga student.

Hilary joined the MCC team in 2025.

Linnea Matthews received her BS in nursing and biology from California State University at Hayward and graduated from the University of California San Francisco’s Nurse Practitioner and Preceptor program.

Linnea specializes in geriatrics and women’s health. She joined the MCC team in 2008.

Patty Grow, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, was born and raised in Humboldt County and is delighted to return to the North Coast after spending several decades living and working out of state. Patty began her undergraduate studies as an art major at Humboldt State University before discovering her calling in nursing.

Patty earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. During her time at UTMB, she practiced in the Emergency Department and Division of Surgery. Following her retirement from the university, Patty continued providing patient care in Urgent Care before returning to California and achieving her long-standing goal of serving the Mendocino Coast community.

Patty is passionate about compassionate, patient-centered care and is grateful to be part of a community and healthcare organization that share those values. 

Patty is not seeing primary care patients at this time. She is focused on caring for workers’ comp patients, urgent care patients, and patients in our Integrated Care and Recovery Services department.

Outside of work, Patty enjoys watercolor painting, hiking, traveling, gardening, and music. She and her husband, Carlos, a retired counselor, have five grown children.

Cayo Alba is a native of Mendocino County.  A graduate of NYU, she has been a Certified Nurse Midwife for over 15 years and has delivered hundreds of babies in Mendocino County. She recently completed additional schooling to become a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is excited to help bring additional mental health resources to our rural county. She has additional training in Perinatal Mental Health and is looking forward to joining her 2 passions of midwifery and mental health.

Star (she/they) is an Associate Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Social Work from California State University, San Marcos, and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. They bring experience in assertive outpatient treatment, mobile crisis response, and supporting individuals living with serious mental illness and chronic illness, as well as those navigating end-of-life care.

Star works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, mild OCD, and grief. They also support family members of loved ones experiencing serious mental illness or substance use disorders. Star has provided crisis intervention training to clinicians, healthcare agencies, and law enforcement throughout San Diego County.

Their approach incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), in which they are currently completing specialized training. Star provides compassionate, individualized therapy tailored to each person’s needs and goals.

Star provides individual, in-person therapy under the supervision of Amanda Senft, LCSW #99056.

Genevieve is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is bilingual in English and Spanish. She received a Masters of Social Work from San Jose State University and a BA in Psychology from San Diego State University. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders, and mindfulness-based treatments. She also has experience working with survivors of domestic violence. She joined the MCC team in 2018. Genevieve sees patients via telehealth only.

Genevieve enjoys traveling and making memories with her family and friends.

Dusty Delhagen, AMFT, focuses on meeting clients where they are and creating a supportive environment where they feel heard, respected, and understood. She takes a holistic, whole-person approach to behavioral health and believes that meaningful therapy begins with connection, collaboration, and trust, She works alongside clients to build self-awareness, develop effective coping strategies, and work toward the life they want to create.

Dusty uses a variety of evidence-informed approaches, including cognitive and behavioral techniques, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, and person-centered interventions. She tailors treatment to each client’s needs, goals, developmental stage, and readiness for change.

Dusty has experience working with young children ages 0–5, adolescents, adults, and older adults, supporting clients experiencing substance use, behavioral challenges, emotional distress, trauma-related concerns, life transitions, interpersonal difficulties, and crisis situations. Her areas of specialty include Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, crisis management, and Substance Use Disorders (SUD).

Dusty is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) practicing under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor.

Ann Gallo, LCSW received her Masters of Social Work degree from San Jose State University in 2009 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2015. Before coming to the Mendocino Coast Clinics in 2018, Ann spent 10 years working throughout the Bay Area as a mental health therapist with children, youth, and families in a variety of roles and settings. Ann is trained in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-Based techniques with a focus on being Strengths-Based, Client-Centered, Co-occurring and Trauma-informed care. Having grown up on the Mendocino Coast, Ann is delighted to return to this amazing place with the ability to provide service to the community.

Laura Neimark, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing since 2011. She received a  B.S. in Nutrition from Cal Poly Pomona and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno.

She provides care remotely and offers a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where patients can explore challenges, heal old wounds, and develop tools for navigating life with greater confidence and self-compassion.

Laura takes a mind-body approach to therapy, helping patients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and nervous system. Her areas of focus include trauma reprocessing using EMDR, body-centered healing through Brainspotting, and inner conflict resolution using Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Laura works with patients to address current stressors, heal patterns rooted in past experiences, and build personalized tools for emotional regulation and resilience. Her goal is to help each person feel supported as they move from simply surviving to living with greater self-awareness, confidence, and well-being.

David Stein, LCSW received a Masters of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and has been practicing as a Licensed Social Worker for more than fifteen years. He joined the MCC team in 2016. David is passionate about helping people, with a special emphasis on children and families. Among other techniques, David is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and has recently started training in Hypnotherapy. When he is not at work, David is an avid surfer who also enjoys tennis, hiking, walking his dogs, going to the beach, and reading.

James specializes in behavioral medicine services. He joined the MCC team in 2003. James also provides family medicine services. James received his Physician Assistant degree from Weill Cornell Medical School in New York.

Rebecca received her DO (Doctor of Osteopathy) degree from Touro University in Vallejo, CA. She then attended a combination residency in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry in Lexington, KY.  As a ‘Triple Boarder’, she is board certified in all three specialties, though prefers seeing children, adolescents and young adults for their mental health needs.  Rebecca will be working with the Mendocino Coast Clinics seeing young patients and consulting with their providers around issues related to child & adolescent psychiatric needs. She prefers working as part of the primary care team because she believes in addressing the full range of a child’s needs to truly help a youth.  Rebecca has worked in a variety of settings from county services to partial hospitalization programs to private practice and is comfortable with a wide variety of family and child issues.

Outside of the work, Rebecca enjoys exercising and doing anything active in the outdoors. She is married with 2 young kids, who she enjoys immensely, and has a dog, Eddie, who sometimes makes an appearance on telehealth with her. She enjoys traveling and learning new things – the most recent of which is playing violin.

Kenneth Baumgartner received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California San Francisco. He joined the MCC team in 1997.

Winifred “Winnie” Lee, DDS, is the newest addition to MCC’s dental team. Dr. Lee received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta in Edmonton and completed her residency at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. Dr. Lee comes to us from Texas and is looking forward to getting to know the beautiful Mendocino Coast. She joined the MCC team in 2025.

Tadeus “Tad” Ulatowski received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California San Francisco. He joined the MCC team in 2004.

Rosa Luz Hernandez started working at MCC in 1995. MCC opened our dental clinic in 1996 in response to our community’s need for high quality dental care for low income and Medi-Cal patients. Rosa started work as a dental assistant on the second day the dental clinic was open. She quickly earned her X-ray certification and continued her education at Sacramento City College, achieving her RDA (Registered Dental Assistant) license in 1999. She went on to complete advanced training at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, earning her RDA-EF2 (Registered Dental Assistant with Extended Functions, Level 2)—the highest level of RDA certification available. Rosa was the first person in Fort Bragg to achieve this prestigious designation.

As an RDA-EF2, Rosa has an expanded scope of practice that allows her to perform advanced clinical procedures, including placing fillings, delivering crowns, and more. Her dedication, experience, and advanced skills make her a valuable member of our dental team and a trusted provider for our patients.

Kim Celeri is a graduate of the Santa Rosa Junior College Registered Dental Hygienist program. Kim provides dental hygiene services. She joined the MCC team in 2009.

When she’s not at work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors. Kim is an accomplished equestrian with a lifelong love of horses, starting when she first sat on a pony at the age of two months. She raises, trains, and shows reining horses.

Jenna received her nurse practitioner degree from the University of California, San Francisco. She specializes in women’s health, including prenatal care, well woman care, gynecology, contraception, postpartum care and breastfeeding.

When she’s not working, Jenna enjoys traveling and spending time with her children. She loves being outside: camping, backpacking, and cross country skiing.

Carol Francois is a licensed acupuncturist with a strong foundation in Chinese medicine and public health. She has expertise in pain management, sports injuries, women’s health, and addiction recovery. She approaches all of her patients with empathy, compassion, and care to ensure a supportive and professional therapeutic relationship.

Carol received a BA in Liberal Arts from San Francisco State University and completed her training at the San Francisco College of Acupuncture. She joined the MCC team in 2025.

Susana Macias, RDN holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and a Minor in Biological Sciences from Sacramento State University. She also graduated from the Central Valley WIC Dietetic Internship, a 44-week, full-time program with a concentration in community nutrition in Fresno, CA. She has been registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) since 2015. Born and raised in Fort Bragg, Susana has been employed by MCC in multiple capacities since 2004, but has been in her current position since 2016. In addition to seeing patients, Susana also coordinates MCC’s employee wellness program and does community outreach. She previously worked as an inpatient dietitian at Mendocino Coast District Hospital. When not engaged in work, Susana enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends, being a mom and traveling.

Jennifer Salyer received a BA in studio art from UC Santa Barbara. After volunteering in an orphanage in Kathmandu, Nepal, she decided she needed some more practical skills, so she studied nursing at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. Jenn received her Registered Nurse license in 2000 then completed a Masters in Community Health Nursing and a Nursing Doctorate. Before joining MCC in 2007, she worked in public health, maternal/newborn nursing, and home health. As a diabetes educator at MCC for the past 10 years, Jenn appreciates the connections she makes with patients and families in our community. When not at work, she loves hanging out at the beach with her kids and traveling to see the world and learn about other cultures.

Kei Velazquez, NP graduated from the University of California, San Francisco with degrees as a Registered Nurse, Masters degree, Certified Nurse Midwife, and Nurse Practitioner of Women’s Health. Specializing in obstetrics, perinatal and lactation services, Kei has a passion for women’s health. She has been practicing for 18 years and joined the MCC team in 2009. Raised on the Mendocino Coast, Kei is proud to be raising her two daughters in the same beautiful place where she grew up.

Jim Young graduated from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY in 1976 with a BA in Economics. He then studied at Life Chiropractic College and became a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine in 1987. Jim had a private practice for 31 years, and specializes in family practice. An avid athlete, he played four years of college basketball, and two years professional basketball in England. He has been a coach for the Mendocino School District for 16 years. Jim moved to the area to build a house for his family, farm the land, and raise his son.

Lily James, MD, joined the MCC team in 2025. She moved to Fort Bragg from Gig Harbor, Washington, where she worked as a pediatrician for 18 years. 

Lily earned a Bachelor of Arts from Bryn Mawr College before attending medical school at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences/MCP-Hahnemann University (now Drexel University). She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego. She is fluent in English and Spanish.

In her practice, James prioritizes building relationships with families, providing health education and working together to help children reach their maximum potential.

Outside of work, Lily enjoys gardening, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her three young adult children.

Breanna Lazar, NP/PNP, joined the MCC team in 2024.

Breanna earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2009, and from the start, she knew she wanted to work with children. She gained experience in both the pediatric ICU and pediatric urgent care, where she worked as a nurse for 11 years. Eager to further her education, Breanna returned to school to earn her doctorate, becoming a certified family and pediatric nurse practitioner.

To build a strong foundation for her practice, she completed a two-year fellowship as a new NP. Before moving to Fort Bragg, she worked in a busy family practice clinic, primarily caring for children.

Breanna relocated from Redding with her husband, two children, and their pig, Maxwell. They look forward to spending lots of time at the beach and getting to know our awesome community!

Faith Simon, FNP, rejoined the MCC team in 2021 after a few years away. We were thrilled to welcome Faith back home to MCC!

She worked for 20 years as a registered nurse in emergency rooms, obstetrics, and public health. During that time she also practiced in Zimbabwe, Zambia, and South Africa. She has worked in the West Virginia coal country, a Navajo Community in Chinle, Arizona, as well as in Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles. In 1999 she completed her Master’s Degree from State University of New York (SUNY Downstate) and began her practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Since arriving on the coast more than 20 years ago, Faith has practiced pediatric and adult medicine in rural health centers. Faith was President of the Safe Passage Family Resource Center Board for seven years and a member of the board of for over ten. She has developed a teaching program on women’s empowerment for the alternative high school in Fort Bragg and was Clinical Director for Coastal Street Medicine for four years. Faith raised two children on the coast and lives with her husband and golden retriever, Bernie.
