On Thursday, June 18, Governor Gavin Newsom ordered all Californians to wear face coverings while in public or high-risk settings, including when shopping, taking public transit or seeking medical care:
The order is due to concerns that the increase in COVID-19 cases in California has been caused by residents failing to voluntarily take that precaution.
Here in Mendocino County, we have done a pretty good job so far of keeping local cases low. Keep up the good work by maintaining appropriate distancing, washing your hands, and wearing your mask in public. Don’t forget to position your mask correctly over your nose and mouth to prevent asymptomatic spread to others. We’re all in this together!
