On Friday night, February 19, we were surprised to receive an offer of 800 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. On Saturday, the MCC team jumped into action, making calls to businesses in the approved tiers and community members eligible for the vaccine. We love a good challenge, especially one that serves our community!
The week of February 22, MCC held vaccine clinics four out of five days. The clinics on Tuesday and Friday were large, 400-vaccine events, targeting people aged 65 years and older, emergency medical responders, school and childcare staff, food workers and agricultural workers. Appointments were required, and all slots are filled for this week, including standbys.
So far, MCC has given 2,593 vaccines, including this week’s events. We are so happy to do this for our community, and are looking forward to doing more vaccine clinics as the supply allows.
If you are eligible for the vaccine, call (707) 964-1251 or email info@mccinc.org with your name, date of birth, contact phone number and name of employer, if applicable. If no appointments are available at the time, you will be put on a waiting list, and we will call you when we have an appointment available.
Just like this week, we often get little notice of when we will receive vaccines, so please answer your phones. It might be us, offering you a #shotofhope!
