COVID Boosters

Many of our patients are asking us about COVID vaccine boosters. Hereโ€™s what we know so far:

Moderna submitted their data to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for review just this week. It will take several more weeks before there is an approval. There is currently no recommendation or approval related to boosters for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
While the FDA has approved boosters for certain people, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has not approved the booster yet. We anticipate that there could be a decision as soon as tomorrow, September 24. The CDC could go with the FDA recommendations or make boosters available to certain groups of people or they could make them available to everyone.
After the CDC approves the booster, the matter will move to the California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Once CDPH approves the vaccine, we will advertise its availability on Facebook, on the radio, and on our website.
So stay tuned! Weโ€™ll let you know as soon as we have any news.

I got the Moderna second shot in mid March and would like a notification if appointments for a booster are available.

I was under the impression that all we have to do now is swing by the tent on Tuesday’s between 3-6 PM for any of the boosters that are available? Heard this from a Nurse Practitioner yesterday (Nov 29) at MCC.
