New-Year-Screenings-1200x800.jpg

Make your health a priority this year! Cancer screenings can save lives with early detection.
Did you know:
– Women aged 45-55 should get an annual mammogram, switching to every 2 years at age 55 and up.
– The recommended age to start screening for colorectal cancer is now 45. That doesn’t mean you have to have a colonoscopy. Easy, non-invasive home test options are now available. Ask your provider what’s best for you.
– Pap tests should start at the age of 21 to screen for cervical cancer. We now have self-collected tests that are done in clinic, as an alternative to traditional Pap tests. Ask your provider about your options.
Call us at (707) 964-1251 to make your appointment and kick off a happy, healthy New Year!

Twice a year, we survey our patients to find out how we’re doing, and we were happy to learn that our patients appreciate the care they get at MCC. Here are the results of our December survey.
Overall, our patients rated us 9.5 out of 10, and 99% of our patients would recommend MCC to their family and friends. Some of the comments we received were:
“MCC is one of the things that make living in Fort Bragg SPECIAL!! You guys are THE BEST!!!”
“Everyone at the clinic is so helpful and respectful. I feel very fortunate to have this clinic. Thank you.”
“I’m grateful and thankful to the staff and my provider for excellent care and support throughout my time with them. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and caring human beings.”
“I receive Medi-Cal and the comparison between the care I get at the Mendocino Clinic and the care I’ve received at for profit medical facilities in the past is night and day. Mendocino Clinic is superior by every measure.”
“Always fast, courteous service. Got a same day appt today. Very impressed with this office.”
“Receptionists and aides always polite and helpful. I LOVE MY CLINIC. I am 81.5 years old. “
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey and give us valuable feedback. We are honored that our patients trust us with their healthcare.

How much do you rely on childcare? What happens if your childcare provider gets sick?
Do you have a backup plan? Or are YOU the backup?
Vaccinating your children against RSV, flu, and COVID helps keep them healthier and supports the caregivers who care for them. Fewer illnesses can mean fewer missed workdays for you and less risk of your childcare provider being out for a week or more. It’s a simple step that helps protect kids, caregivers, and the community we all share.
Talk with your child’s healthcare provider about staying up to date on vaccines, or give us a call at (707) 964-1251 to schedule an appointment.

We’re thrilled to announce that Dr. Lily James has joined MCC’s pediatrics team!
Dr. James brings 25 years of pediatric experience, is fluent in English and Spanish, and comes to us from Gig Harbor, WA, where she cared for families for 18 years.
Originally from rural Maine, Dr. James is excited to return to small-town life and is already getting to know the Coast, including visiting local schools to better understand the environments where her patients learn and grow.
Known as the “baby whisperer” in her previous practice, Dr. James has a special love for newborn care and lactation support. She’s passionate about building strong relationships with families, helping children reach their full potential, and creating meaningful connections with her patients.
When she’s not caring for kids, you’ll find her gardening, hiking, traveling, or spending time with her three young adult children.
Join us in welcoming Dr. James to MCC and the beautiful Mendocino Coast!
