NO on Prop 44

Proposition 44 would require nonprofit community health centers like MCC to spend at least 90% of their revenue on narrowly defined “program services.”
But here’s the problem: many of the costs required to actually operate a healthcare clinic don’t count toward that 90%. Some of these are:
– Rent or mortgage on the building the clinic is in;
– Custodians to keep the clinic clean and safe; and
– Medical records and other administrative staff who keep patient care running.
Apparently, you can provide healthcare without a building, without anyone cleaning it, and without anyone managing the records and systems that make patient care possible.
This isn’t how healthcare works.
Nonprofit community health centers like MCC already operate under extensive federal and state oversight and use their resources to provide care to their patients.
Vote NO on Proposition 44. Protect our community health centers and access to healthcare on the Mendocino Coast.
