This is one of the most important things you can do for your community. Federal funding for critical services like fighting the wildfires that are blazing right now, school lunches for kids, services for seniors, and repairing our rough and potholed roads is determined by population. If they don’t know we’re here, they won’t know we need the money, and we won’t get it.

And it’s a lot of money. Each resident of Mendocino County is worth $1,000 in federal funding per year. Over the course of the 10 years until the next Census, that’s $10,000 per person. Based on an estimated county-wide population of 87,000 people, that’s almost a million dollars that could be brought back to our County to work for us.

Los grupos de apoyo se ofrecerán virtualmente a través de Zoom y están disponibles para el público.

We are delighted to announce that Nadege Nerette, Physician Assistant, will be starting work at MCC next week, and that Dr. Ahmad Shahzad will be here in September. For now, we have a 4 month agreement with him to give him time to make the decision on staying on as permanent staff. Fingers crossed!

Dr. Jennifer Kreger will be joining the MCC staff in early October and will be seeing the walk in clinic patients. Walk in clinic hours are 8:30 to 10:30 am on Thursdays and 1:00 to 4:00 pm on Fridays.

I wasn’t sure where to send this with the COVID and our new practices, but wanted to take a moment to send your medical people great kudos!

During these ever-changing uncertain times and everyone trying to be so mindful of not making others sick, we so appreciate you – your skill, your consciousness (knowing there is an emotional component to COVID-19, economic fallout, additional stressors, etc.), your positive attitudes, sensitivity, and your care!

I was seen by Doctor Gonzalez yesterday, Sandra was the MA. I totally appreciate how flexible you were with me about everything and how hard you worked to make the appointment happen! I only have a flip phone and Miriam got that! Thank you for understanding, Miriam! You are simply, all of you, drop down awesome.
