Thanks for the masks!

We are the RNs and LVNs of Mendocino Coast Clinics. Your generosity has honored us with the donation of 1,754 masks so that we may continue to care safely for our community. Thank you!

Our “We Ask for a Mask” funding campaign ends today, the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale. What could be a more fitting tribute than to receive your support now?

Keep it coming and take us closer to our goal of raising $10,000 for this essential PPE.

We have just $730 to go!

National Nurses Week is extra-special this year! 2020 is the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, celebrating the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. National Nurses Week starts on May 6 and ends on Nurse Nightingale’s birthday, May 12.

We are especially grateful to these amazing professionals during this difficult time. In addition to the countless tasks they perform every day to take the #bestcareanywhere of our patients, MCC’s nurses have stepped up to face the ever-changing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic with courage and dedication. They are on the front lines, triaging patients and assessing and testing them for COVID-19. They are truly healthcare heroes.

Happy National Nurses Week to the best nurses anywhere! #nationalnursesweek #bestcareanywhere #bestnursesanywhere #MCCStrong

MCC is happy to participate in the Health Report every Thursday with our friends at The Coast KOZT during the COVID-19 crisis. An archive of the radio reports can be found on KOZT’s website.

We wanted to share a recent podcast with our own Genevieve Gonzalez, LCSW, talking about fears and feelings around the pandemic and how to cope with them. The podcast is in English and in Spanish:

https://www.kozt.com/MCDH/041620MCDH.mp3

Thanks to Genevieve for her insights and advice, and to KOZT for helping us to reach out to our community during this challenging time. We will be on KOZT every Thursday at 9:30 a.m. #staysafestaywell #stillhere

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. It’s a great opportunity for us to stand together and use our individual power of generosity to remain connected and to heal.

Like most health centers around the country, MCC has a shortage of personal protective equipment, including masks and gowns. Recently, through a connection from a long-time donor, we were able to secure a supply of 5,000 medical masks and will receive them in early May.

To help keep our patients and staff safe, and to raise funds for this purchase, MCC invites community members to support our “We Ask for A Mask” outreach by donating $5 (or more!) on May 5.

Each mask costs $5 – so every $5 contribution has a BIG impact. Just click here to donate a mask to MCC:

https://mendocinocoastclinics.org/donate/

Thank you from all our staff. $5 really can make a difference. You make a difference!
