We received a call this morning from a patient who had just received a Medicare scam call. The call came from a local cell phone number and the caller had the patient’s correct name, address, and other information. She asked the patient to read out her Medicare number so they could send her a new card. The patient became suspicious and the caller hung up.
Please be aware that Medicare will NEVER call you to ask for your credit card number, and you should never give your Medicare number to anyone. Thank you to our patient for alerting us and the City of Fort Bragg Police Dept about this scam. Neighbors helping neighbors!
¡Vecinos ayudando a vecinos!

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. It could be a young child in the ICU or a mother with Stage 3 leukemia. If you’re worried about needles, don’t be —most blood donors compare the experience to a mild, split-second pinch. The entire process is very safe and very fast, and you will feel amazing knowing you potentially saved up to three people’s lives.

Our friends from Vitalant – California will be in Fort Bragg on April 19 from 1:00 to 5:30 pm and April 20 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm for a blood drive. You can make an appointment here, or phone 1-877-258-4825. Remember, it benefits us all, because the blood is used wherever its needed, to help complete strangers or friends and relatives. You might be a recipient one day!
