Before we get to this week’s schedule, we’d like to remind you that we are NOT doing testing for people with symptoms during surveillance testing on Wednesdays and Thursdays. These are different tests and are processed differently. If you have symptoms, call us at 707 964 1251 to get assessed and to see if you need to be tested.

If you have been exposed, please wait for 3 or 4 days before asking to be tested. You will not get a true result if the test is done too early after the exposure. As always, if you have symptoms, call us at 707 964 1251 and let us know you have COVID symptoms.

𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟱: We’ll be under the tent at 205 South Street from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, ready to give vaccines to anyone aged 12 and up. First and second doses and boosters are available. Anyone under the age of 18 needs parental consent to receive a vaccine, though the parent does not have to be present when the child receives the vaccine.

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟳: Surveillance testing for people who do 𝙣𝙤𝙩 have COVID symptoms is available from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. We have to stop testing at 1:00 sharp in order to meet the Fed Ex deadline. The tests are shipped to a central lab for processing. The lab will notify you directly of your results, which should be available between 72-96 hours after being received by the lab.

Here is a summary of the current order from our Public Health Officer. The new definition of “fully vaccinated” now includes getting a booster if it has been 5 months since your second vaccine. You are also considered fully vaccinated if you have not had a booster if it has been less than 5 months since your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or less than 2 months since the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The following isolation and quarantine orders are not affected by being fully or partially vaccinated.

If you get COVID, you are isolating. Anyone who is a “close contact” will evaluate their need for quarantine. See below for more information.

1. The isolation period is 10 days. Day 0 is the day of your positive test. For example, if you test positive on 1/10/2022, your Day 1 is 1/11/2022.

2. To be released early, you can test on Days 1 through 9. If you test negative on any of those days, you can leave isolation.

     a. You MUST also have no fever for 24 hours without medication.

     b. Your symptoms MUST be resolving (getting better), they do not have to be fully resolved.

3. If you test positive at Day 5, you can test every day or every other day, your choice. When you test negative, you can leave isolation and return to work or you can return to work after 10 days in isolation. For example, if your Day 10 is a Saturday or Sunday, you do not have to test to go back to work on Monday.

If you are exposed and are not fully vaccinated and not positive, you are quarantining. If a quarantined person becomes sick with fever, cough, or shortness of breath (even if the symptoms are mild), the person should now consider themselves an active case and must go into isolation.

1. If you are fully boosted, exposed and test negative you may go to work. Repeat the test if you develop symptoms and test again in 5-7 days after your exposure.

2. If you are not fully boosted, you must quarantine for 10 days or

3. Quarantine for 5+ days and may return to work once you have a negative test.

Demand for testing is skyrocketing, so 𝗮𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟭𝟯, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗼 𝘀𝘆𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗼𝗺𝘀) 𝘁𝗼 𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝟭:𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗺, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆. This allows us to ship tests the same day, since the cut off time to get them to FedEx is 2:00 pm.

Tests for people without symptoms are shipped to a laboratory in Valencia, and the earliest the test results may be available is 72 hours after the lab receives them. So we are changing the schedule to make sure we can meet the shipping deadline and so that people can get their results as soon as possible.

We will be giving drive through vaccines from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 11 at the white tent at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg. First dose, second dose, and boosters are all available. No appointment is necessary.

Boosters are now available for children aged 12 and up, if it has been at least 6 months since their second dose, if they received Moderna or Pfizer, or at least 2 months, if they received Johnson & Johnson. Parental consent is required for anyone under 18 to receive a vaccine.

Please follow all traffic signage and instructions for the vaccine clinic on Tuesday, and please do not come early. This backs up traffic and makes for a longer wait for everyone. Thank you for your understanding.

If you have symptoms, we can test you. Give us a call at 964-1251 to schedule an appointment if you can. Scheduling ahead will make the process quicker for you. You can also drive or walk up to the white tent at 205 South Street to be tested if you have COVID symptoms.

Just a reminder that symptoms may include: fever or chills; cough; shortness of breath; fatigue; muscle and body aches; headache; new loss of taste or smell; sore throat; congestion or runny nose; nausea or vomiting; and diarrhea.
