𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟭: Welcome, winter solstice! The days will start getting longer after today.

We will be giving vaccines from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at 205 South Street. First dose, second dose, and boosters are available. No appointments are needed.

Note that boosters are now available for anyone aged 16 and up who is 6 months out from their second dose of Moderna or Pfizer or two months past their dose of Johnson & Johnson. Anyone under 18 will need parental consent. If you are getting a second dose or a booster, please bring your vaccine card with you so we can update it.

In order to keep traffic flowing smoothly, 𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙡𝙮. Our friends at the City of Fort Bragg California and the City of Fort Bragg Police Dept will be helping us with traffic, directing vehicles east on Cypress, then through the hospital parking lot, past Sequoia Circle, and then to the west entrance of the clinic at 205 South Street. Please be prepared to wait; we will get to you as soon as we can!

We will be vaccinating children aged 5 to 11 at the clinic, 205 South Street in Fort Bragg, on 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟯 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟯:𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝟲:𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗺, no matter how windy and rainy it gets! Call us at 707 964-1251 for an appointment.

We were delighted that two of our staff members, NP Linnea Matthews and LVN Maria Bermudez, recently received Charlene McAllister Excellence in Nursing Awards from the Mendocino Coast Healthcare Foundation. And we were thrilled that they were presented by Charlene McAllister herself. Linnea is one of MCC’s most beloved providers. She celebrated the 40th anniversary of her nursing career in 2019, becoming a nurse practitioner about 25 years ago. Linnea specializes in geriatric care and women’s health.

Maria started at MCC as an MA. becoming a CMA and then an LVN. When COVID struck, Maria stepped up immediately to join our dedicated COVID team, doing testing and vaccines. Maria was recently promoted to Nurse Manager, responsible for supervising all of MCC’s nursing staff.

Congratulations to Linnea and Maria! We are so proud of your hard work and dedication in taking the #bestcareanywhere of our patients!

Team MCC is ready to rock and roll! Here’s what’s happening at MCC this week.

On Tuesday, November 30, we are giving free drive through vaccines, first dose, second dose, and boosters, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm at the white tent behind the clinic at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg. No appointment is needed.

We are continuing to do free drive through or walk up COVID testing at the tent every Wednesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, and every Thursday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. Call us at 964-1251 to schedule your test.

We are doing a free drive through COVID vaccine clinic for children ages 5 to 11 at the tent on Wednesday, December 1, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm. No appointment is needed.

Parental consent forms are required for children to be vaccinated, and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

On this Thanksgiving Day, we are grateful for many things. We are thankful for our patients, who trust us with their health, even in the midst of a global pandemic. So many of our patients took the time to thank our staff over the past year, and even brought us gifts and donations, which was touching and inspiring.

We are thankful for our community and how we look out for one another. We are thankful for our amazing staff, who always bring their A game with a smile on their faces.
