  • Get tested 1-3 days before visiting friends or family during the holiday or prior to traveling, even if you do not have symptoms.
  • Antigen testing should be done within 24 hours prior to visiting others or traveling.
  • PCR testing should be done within 72 hours with results available prior to visiting others or traveling.
  • Upon returning from the holidays, test on the day you return to work or school.
  • Test again 3-5 days later.
Knowing your status will keep you, your family, friends and co-workers safe.

This week, we bid a fond farewell to Dr. Brent Wright, our dedicated OB/GYN who has helped more than a thousand babies into the world – including many #mccbabies – during his long tenure on the Mendocino Coast. You can read more about Dr. Wright’s distinguished career and retirement plans here.
We are sorry to see Dr. Wright go, but we are glad that the same team who worked alongside for him for so many years is still here to serve our community. Nurse Practitioners and Certified Nurse Midwives Kei Velazquez and Jenna Breton continue to provide the #bestcareanywhere, including Pap tests, well woman care, and prenatal care. Kei and Jenna can care for you for nearly all of your pregnancy, from your first positive pregnancy test right up to your third trimester, when we will help you transition to the birthing location of your choice. After your baby is born, MCC is ready to care for both mother and baby, right here on the coast. Our midwives provide post-partum care and breastfeeding support, while our experienced pediatrics team cares for your baby.
We wish Dr. Wright all the best in his well-deserved retirement!

Happy Nurse Practitioner Week! We have so many reasons to celebrate this special week and these special providers, who care for our community throughout the full cycle of life.
Jenna Breton and Kei Velazquez specialize in women’s health, providing prenatal and postnatal care at our Sequoia Circle site. Faith Simon cares for our community’s children at our Cypress Street site, from newborns through high school, when they graduate to primary care at South Street.
We recently added Chelsea Lewis to our primary care staff as a permanent, full-time hire. Chelsea came to us a traveling provider, and was supposed to work at MCC for just a few months, but she fell in love with the clinic and the community and decided to stay.
Chelsea joins Linnea Matthews at our South Street site, where Linnea specializes in geriatric care. Whatever stage you are at in life, our NPs have you covered with the #bestcareanywhere!

The FDA and CDC have approved the use of COVID vaccines for children aged 5 and up. This still has to be approved by the CDPH before we can start giving these vaccines. It鈥檚 likely the approval will come by the end of the week, but the dosage is different than adult vaccines, so we will need to get a special supply to vaccinate these kids.
The County has requested a supply of pediatric COVID vaccines, but has not received them yet. Once they do, the County will be distributing vaccines to our clinic and others around the county.
While we await final approval and the supply of vaccines, we have started a waitlist for those who are interested in getting the vaccine once it’s available. Call us at 964-1251 or email us at info@mccinc.org with your child’s name, date of birth, and phone number and we will get him or her on the list. We will contact you as soon as we can start scheduling the vaccines.
