Update on COVID vaccines, boosters, and testing at MCC:

𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘄. Call us at 964-1251 to schedule your appointment for your first dose, second dose, or booster.

If you would like a booster:

– You must be aged 18 and up.

– If you received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine, it must be 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟮 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 after receiving the vaccine. You can get a booster of Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J.

– If you received Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, it must be 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘀𝗲. You can choose to get a booster of either Moderna or Pfizer.

– If you are getting a second dose or a booster, please bring your vaccine card with you so we can update it.

We are seeing high demand for boosters! Yesterday afternoon, we gave more than 200 vaccines in about three hours.

We’re starting the week with some good news: Moderna boosters have been approved!

Just in time for Tuesday in the Tent, boosters are now available for anyone aged 18 and up who has already had their first two doses of COVID vaccines.

If you received Johnson & Johnson, you are eligible for the booster 2 months after receiving the vaccine. You can get a booster of Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J.

If you received your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine 6 months ago or more, you can get a booster of either Moderna or Pfizer now.

𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆: #TeamMCC is playing a double-header, with COVID tests 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟵:𝟬𝟬 𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗼 𝟭:𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗺 and free flu shots 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮:𝟬𝟬 – 𝟱:𝟯𝟬 𝗽𝗺. No appointment necessary, and remember: you don’t need to wait 15 minutes after getting your flu shot. It’s quick and easy!

Our MAs are hard-working, highly skilled, and so dedicated. More than half of our MAs have worked at MCC for five years or more, and nearly half have become Certified MAs while working here. Recently, our Lead MA, Mikayla Bowman, was promoted to MA Manager. We are so proud of our team and all they do for our staff and patients!

Our friends at the Housing Action Team North Coast – Mendocino County (HAT) asks North Coast employers and working people to take a super-short (5 minutes or less) housing-impact survey on their website:

Flu season is coming, so it’s time to get your flu shot!

We are holding 𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝗹𝘂 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮:𝟬𝟬 – 𝟱:𝟯𝟬 𝗽.𝗺 at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg. No appointment is necessary and you do not have to be an MCC patient. We will not have high dose vaccines at this event.

There’s no need to wait after receiving the flu vaccine, so you can drive in, get your shot, and be on your way in just a few minutes.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

When the pandemic hit, many of us let our regular preventive care screenings, like Pap tests and mammograms, slide. We were sheltering in place, and many health facilities were limiting services or not seeing patients in person.

Now that health centers and hospitals have reopened, with vaccines and testing readily available, it’s a great time – and a safe time! – to catch up on your self-care.

If you are a woman between the ages of 50 and 74, you should get a mammogram every two years.

If you are insured through Medi-Cal, you could be eligible for a $30 gift card for completing your mammogram:

No matter what your insurance is, if you’re due for a mammogram, let your health provider know and they’ll get it scheduled for you. If you’re an MCC patient, give us a call at 964-1251 or talk to your provider at your next appointment and we’ll make sure you get this important screening.
