Monday in Mendo with Moderna!

On Monday, May 24, the Mendocino Cafe is hosting a pop up vaccine party! MCC will be there with both J & J and Moderna vaccines from 9:30-11:00 am. The Mendocino Cafe is at 10451 Lansing Street in the heart of Mendocino.

All are welcome, no appointment necessary. Just come on in and get your vaccine!

It’s a safe, welcoming space where teens and young adults up to age 25 can get free, confidential, and nonjudgmental sexual and reproductive health care – and real answers to those tough questions.

Blue Door offers sexual and reproductive health education, birth control information and supplies, emergency contraception, education, testing and treatment for STIs (sexually transmitted infections), pregnancy testing, relationship information and support, and more.

We are happy to see you in person, or by text, whichever you prefer.

Our walk-in hours – no appointment needed – are:

Monday: 3 – 5 pm

Thursday: 3 – 5:30 pm

Friday: 12 – 2 pm

We are happy to announce that 12 to 15 year old kids are now eligible for the Pfizer vaccine!

Please call us at 964-1251 to get your child on the list. We will call you as soon as we have a supply of the vaccine and a date for the vaccine clinic.

Gather together 9 of your friends, family members, neighbors, or co-workers and we will vaccinate all of you on any day and at any time that works for you.

You can come to the clinic at 205 South Street in Fort Bragg, or we can meet you at the outdoor venue of your choice, whether it’s your front yard or the Coastal Trail. We might even bring some healthy snacks and sparkling water to help you celebrate!

National Nurses Week is a week-long celebration, starting on May 6 and ending on Nurse Florence Nightingale’s birthday, May 12. Nurse Nightingale was a pioneer in the field of nursing, and is considered to be the founder of modern nursing. She set an example of compassion and commitment to patient care.

Nurse Nightingale’s legacy lives on in our nurses today. She would be very proud of the amazing nurses at MCC, especially over the past year. Our nurses stepped up bravely to care for our patients in the face of a global pandemic with ever-changing priorities and challenges.

In addition to the countless tasks they perform every day to take the #bestcareanywhere of our patients, MCC’s nurses have spent the past year triaging, assessing, and testing people for COVID-19, and now they are doing a heroic job of vaccinating our community against this deadly disease. Now more than ever, we are deeply grateful to our nurses for all they do to keep us safe and well.
