Mendocino Coast Clinics is excited to announce that, effective August 1, Mendocino Coast Pharmacy will officially become part of MCC!

To celebrate, we invite the community to join us on Thursday, August 6, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at 350 Cypress Street in Fort Bragg. The celebration will include remarks from local leaders, including the Mayor of Fort Bragg and representatives from the California Primary Care Association (CPCA), as we mark this exciting new chapter. The event also coincides with National Health Center Week, making it the perfect time to celebrate the vital role community health centers play in keeping healthcare accessible for everyone.

For current Mendocino Coast Pharmacy customers, it’s business as usual. The friendly, knowledgeable pharmacy team you know and trust will remain in place, and the excellent customer service you’ve come to expect will continue. There is no requirement to be a Mendocino Coast Clinics patient to have your prescriptions filled at the pharmacy – everyone is welcome.

We look forward to continuing to serve our community with the same personal care and commitment that patients and customers have relied on for years.

Our Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program is beginning a new chapter with a new name and a new home!

As of July 29, the program will be known as Integrated Care and Recovery Services. The new name reflects our expanded commitment to helping people with a wide range of substance use disorders, not just opioid use disorder.

The program has also moved to a new location:

Twice each year, we ask our patients to tell us how we’re doing. In our June survey, patients rated MCC 9.7 out of 10, and 99.6% of our patients would recommend MCC to their friends and family.

Our Registered Dietitian Susie, has selected One-Pan Salmon & Veggies for our Recipe of the Month. It’s a healthy, delicious meal that’s easy to make and even easier to clean up!

Packed with lean protein, colorful vegetables, and heart-healthy omega-3s, this simple sheet pan dinner is perfect for busy weeknights .

Ingredients

for 2 servings

2 lb small red potato, or yellow, quartered

4 tablespoons olive oil

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

4 cloves garlic, minced

4 tablespoons lemon juice

2 tablespoons fresh thyme

2 teaspoons ginger

2 salmon fillets

1 bunch asparagus, roughly 1 pound

Preheat the oven to 400.

Cover a sheet pan with foil or parchment paper. Spread out potatoes on the pan and drizzle with olive oil. Season with salt, pepper, 2 cloves of garlic, and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Bake for 30 minutes.

Make salmon glaze. Combine salt, pepper, 1 tablespoon thyme, 2 garlic cloves, ginger, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix well.

Remove potatoes from the oven and push them to the top or side of your pan. Place your salmon fillets on the pan. Brush both sides of the salmon with the glaze.

Place asparagus on the pan and top with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of thyme on the asparagus and potatoes.

Bake for 10-12 minutes. (The salmon should flake easily with a fork when it’s ready.)

Our friends at the Cancer Resource Centers of Mendocino County (CRC) stopped by this week to talk to our medical providers about the services they provide. CRC staff and volunteers can help with so many things that can feel overwhelming, like setting up transportation for out of town treatments or appointments with specialists or figuring out insurance.

They can help you prepare questions for your doctor and go with you to appointments to record or take notes for you to review later or share with your family. You can even have your telehealth appointment at the CRC offices if you need technology or internet support.
